[DIY] Handmade Mother’s Day Card

It’s tempting to send your Mom a Mother’s Day text with various heart emojis but why not surprise her this year? Put your drawing skills to use and send your Mama a homemade Mother’s Day card.

  • Blank Card (I got mine at Michaels or use cardstock)
  • Pencil
  • Colored Pencils
  • Sharpie (thin point is best)
  • Postage stamp at local post office (Google Maps it if you have no idea – nobody will know)

  • PICK a design (list below)
  • STENCIL it with pencil first (look closely, I forgot to erase everything)
  • DRAW over it with your Sharpie, let dry
  • ERASE your pencil drawing
  • COLOR in your drawing
  • HIGHLIGHT your main words
  • WRITE a message inside
  • MAIL it out today so it arrives on time

  • You did a grape job raisin us – draw a raisin (mom) and one grape per child (coordinate with your siblings in case they didn’t send a card this year)
  • Mom, you’re tearrific – draw a saucer, tea cup, a lemon wedge
  • Mom, you’re grate – draw a cheese grater
  • You’re the greatest Mom in the world – draw a globe
In parentheses: From the greatest daughter in the world
  • Thanks for being my Lorelai to my Rory – draw two stick figures
  • You’re not a regular mom, you’re a cool mom – draw sunglasses
  • You’re the OG Queen Bee – draw a bee with a crown

The beauty of Mother’s Day is a chance for you to celebrate all the strong, generous and faithful women that have shaped you to be the person you are today. Don’t forget, everyone loves a little snail mail.

Bonus gift, encouraging her to hang your card on the fridge for all to see via RAYGUN:magnet
