Not going to lie, I binge watched The OC yesterday while unpacking and doing laundry from my mini California adventure. Is this what they call going through withdrawal? In all seriousness, you may have noticed via Instagram that I was on the west coast.
Last week I had the chance to attend Social Media Marketing World 2016 in San Diego, California. Each of the 3,000 eager and social media savvy attendees traveled via plane, train or automobile (& Uber), to learn from social media experts and fellow marketers. Stay tuned as I’ll recap my experience and learnings from the three day conference.
On this beautiful Monday, I’ll share my attempt at being a San Diego local during the few days I spent in SoCal.
» Hello, San Diego!
A great spot to spend your morning, afternoon or evening whether you’re with friends, family or coworkers. You will find boutique stores, coffee shops and restaurants to satisfy every taste bud and shopping urge. The Historic Gaslamp Quarter is a must.
» Rustic Root
Hello, rooftop I’d like to have in my future home. We didn’t get a chance to eat in the Rustic Root dining room, only admired it as I snapped this photo. If you head upstairs the bar is Instagram heaven with rose gold chairs, retractable ceiling and funky furniture.
» La Puerta
Can I celebrate Taco Tuesdays at La Puerta every Tuesday?
USS Midway Museum
The opening party of the conference was held on the USS Midway Museum. What a night and honor.
Beaches (of course)
Wake up with the sun or end your night with a beautiful view. Regardless of which beach you go to you won’t be disappointed.
» Meditation Garden
Spend a few minutes or an hour in the Meditation Garden. You’ll be surrounded by beautiful plants and koi ponds while overlooking the coast underneath your feet.
» Bull Taco
Tacos? Wait, by the beach? With tater tots on them? Sold. But first, chips & guac.
Cheers to tasting local brews at Union and TVs for every seat in the house
» Bier Garden
The Bier Garden “outdoor” bar + Green Flash East Village Pilsner = great afternoon
After San Diego I hopped on a plane (my first Southwest experience) to explore SF – stay tuned! #visitCalifornia
